Wrote help topics for the ASP.NET Silverlight controls. Wrote conceptual topics, the reference documentation, and sample programs to demonstrate how to use the controls.

Microsoft (Feb 2007 - July 2007)

Wrote white paper for Windows Live ID about identity federation to allow organizations to provide their members with seamless access to Windows Live services such as Hotmail, Messenger, Spaces, and SkyDrive without requiring a separate log-in.

The white paper was recently revised to describe Windows Azure Services Platform use of identity federation for identity and security services.

TranSenda (Aug 2006 – Nov 2006 )

Revised SDK documentation for a medical clinical trial software company from existing Word/PDF to MSDN-style documentation as a CHM file or integrated into Visual Studio IDE.

Microsoft (Jan 2006 - July 2006)

Programmer Writer documenting Visual Studio SDK domain-specific languages. Wrote reference topics, code examples, how-to topics, and overview topics.

Microsoft (April 2004 - Oct 2004)

Programmer Writer in UI Automation for Windows Vista. Wrote conceptual overviews and reference pages for SDK documentation. Designed sample applications in C# to demonstrate working with GUI information programmatically.

Tektronix (January 2004 - April 2004)

Developed training material for company software developers using ClearCase configuration management software. PowerPoint training materials were used for classroom and intranet use.

Alpha Documentation (June 2001 - January 2004)

Wrote documentation for XML software company, custom software development company, and white paper on embedding video in Flash applications. Wrote article for Hardcore Visual Studio .NET magazine on documentating ASP.NET applications using Windows Help files.

Rational Software (August 2000 - April 2001)

Wrote documentation for Rational Rose add-in that generates Java code from UML diagrams. Created language-neutral mapping of UML elements to C++ or Java.

Preview Systems (March 2000 – July 2000)

Wrote e-commerce software installation guide for end users and technicians having various Web servers (IIS, Netscape, Apache), platforms (Windows, UNIX), and databases (SQL Server, Oracle). Installation guide gave procedures for each possible configuration in print and as HTML.

Sharp (November 1999 – January 2000)

Added context-sensitive Help to a Windows application for managing printers and copiers on a network. Wrote Visual C++ code for each CDialog of MFC application to call specific Help topics.

Electro Scientific Industries (ESI) (July 1999 – October 1999)

Created Help file for C++ class library for machine vision software used by internal developers as a reference, for training newly hired developers, and to allow users to develop customized applications.

Microsoft (June 1998 – March 1999)

Wrote HTML Help file for Microsoft Proxy Server object model for extending and customizing server functionality. Wrote overview of using HTML tags for speech input/output over the Internet.

Hewlett-Packard (1997, 1998)

Created Help system to document HP graphics library of C++ classes. Created class hierarchy (inheritance) diagrams. Wrote training video script for automated printer manufacturing system.

Intel (August 1995 – April 1997)

Created Help files for ProShare videoconferencing software SDK ActiveX controls, object model. Wrote sample applications in Visual Basic, Visual C++ to demonstrate customized applications.

PacifiCorp (September 1994 – August 1995)

Team leader on project documenting customer service procedures as a Windows Help system. Visio charts were linked to step-by-step procedures using Windows Help macros I created. The project was described in a magazine article in Windows Tech Journal, August 1995.
